Fifteen-year-old Miya Camden, has had to live a very challenging life with both parents falling prey to substance
abuse. Living in more than twenty-five locations and spending six months in the foster care system, Miya was often left alone for weeks a time. But six months ago, her mother was ordered to clean up her act or lose Miya permanently. Mr. Alden, a new caseworker, hopes to keep Miya from being permanently lost in the system. Miya's father, however, sees this as an opportunity to get the system to work for him.
